Cash Management

  • Assist in preparing annual budget
  • Provide regular financial snapshot
  • Prepare and report on a budget to actual results on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Coordinate investment options for excess cash and make recommendations based on cash needs

Financial Reporting

  • Preparation of interim and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including supporting notes
  • Prepare working papers and summary schedules for all key accounts
  • Draft interim and annual management discussion and analysis (MD&A)
  • Coordinate and execute annual audit
  • File continuous disclosure documents on SEDAR, including CEO and CFO certificates

Bookkeeping and Accounting

  • Maintain bank relationships and documentation, including signatories
  • Set up Online Business Banking, if required
  • Monthly bookkeeping of all invoices received
  • Prepare employee payroll, calculate and remit payroll deductions
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
  • Payment of invoices, including cheques, electronic fund transfers and wires
  • Maintaining chart of accounts, consistent with reporting needs
  • Perform monthly or quarterly review of general ledger
  • Coordinating with vendors

Tax

  • Prepare T4s, as required
  • Register for GST and PST, if applicable
  • Prepare and file GST returns and PST returns
  • Coordinate preparation of tax returns, provide necessary supporting information
  • Review tax returns
  • Coordinate SRED returns, where applicable
  • Coordinate GST audits, as required
